It is a quiet start to the week with a jumps card from Plumpton supported by an all-weather flat card at Wolverhampton. Plumpton have to pass an early morning inspection although they are very hopeful of action going ahead. If I were a cynic I might almost suggest that they would hold three races before abandoning the remainder of the meeting! Perhaps I am being a bit mean to the officials at Plumpton - I am sure they will do their utmost to make sure the entire meeting takes place. I don't know what the weather is like Plumpton way, but it hasn't stopped raining all night around Brixham.
How on earth did Ruby Walsh manage to stay aboard Killultagh Vic at Leopardstown yesterday? Not only did he lose his irons, he managed to get the horse home in front! There are some great pictures of the incident in today's Post. It was yet another winner for the Mullins' juggernaut and I see that he is now as short as 1/8 to be leading trainer at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

The top of the Premier League looks tighter than ever following the weekend. Just one point covers the top three teams and I have to be honest, I still like the look of Manchester City. I watched a couple of games yesterday and Man Utd had a good result as they picked up three points at Liverpool, even though the Scousers looked to be the better side for much of the match. Meanwhile top team Arsenal only managed to draw with Stoke.
I stayed up to watch the return of David Haye but unfortunately the fight was a complete farce. It only lasted 131 seconds and his opponent, Aussie Mark de Mori only seemed interested in coming over to collect his purse. He was worse than useless...talk about conning the public - just don't tell him that I said that! The boxing board should look into this type of mismatch. I can only assume the David Haye is running out of money for him to step back into the ring.
Let's hand out a bit of love for the England cricket team after they won the third Test match and secured a series win against the world number one South Africans. Stuart Broad bowled brilliantly and the catching from the whole side was much better. I am not sure how South Africa can claim to be the best side in the world, particularly after this.
What an incredible talent snooker player Ronnie O'Sullivan is. After beating current world champion Mark Selby (who has been in great form) in the semi-finals of the Masters Ronnie proclaimed that he "wasn't playing very well". He won the final in a canter, annihilating Barry Hawkins 10-1 in a mismatch of David Haye proportions! He will probably play for another twelve months and then go back running!

Did you hear about the two aerials that got married? The ceremony wasn't up to much but the reception was excellent! Oh come on, it is only Monday!
