I see there are a few birthdays highlighted in the Racing Post today. Vinnie Jones is 46 and he has had horses with John Gosden. I can imagine if you trained a horse for Vinnie and you told him that you though his horse will win one day, you might get a reply of, "John it will win!". You would not want to argue with Vinnie! It is also Channel 4 's Alice Plunkett's 38th birthday. A few years ago Peter Scudamore had a clothes catalogue out. Believe it or not I was one of the models for the catalogue and so was Alice. I saw her in her underwear in the Pond House kitchen! I must say she did look better than Scu with her clothes off!
Jump racing at Leicester did go ahead yesterday and Cambridgeshire winner Credit Swap was a good winner. I thought he might struggle to get two miles over hurdles, especially on a stiff track like Leicester but he did look quite impressive. The six year old may struggle against better opposition but connections will no doubt be delighted with his jumping debut and it will be interesting to see where he goes next.
I see that Scotland would like to get and all-weather track and I think this would be a very good idea. It would be a surface they really need as Scotland seems to get more bad weather than England and recent weather has shown just how vital this tracks have been to keep racing going and keeps horses ticking over, especially the recent cards they have put on for National Hunt horses. On that note, racing has already been abandoned at Ludlow for Thursday due to the course being frozen. There should be some jump racing at Huntingdon to keep us going tomorrow however and David has his next entries at Bangor and Fontwell on Friday.
Meanwhile down under it looks like the Aussies are going to get another beating. Alistair Cook is in magnificent form and is just short of another double century. Did anyone see the pink jacket that Shane Warne was wearing?! I bet he took some stick from the male Aussies, mind you I am sure most of them wish he was still playing even with his jacket on!
