Well, it's another wet and windy start to the day and we have three meetings to look forward to with jumps action from Fakenham and Musselburgh as well as an all-weather flat card from Wolverhampton. David runs Navanman (pictured above) in the 4.20pm race at Fakenham which is a 2m7 1/2f handicap hurdle. He runs with a 7lbs penalty for his easy success last week at Towcester and if he reproduces that form he will win again. He is due to go up 15lbs in future handicaps, so he is effectively 8lbs 'well-in' this afternoon. As a former Irish pointer he should appreciate the extra distance and Tom Scudamore takes over on board.
Of yesterday's runners at Musselburgh I thought that Impulsive American ran very well to finish third at 50/1 in the opener while Unanmité was far from disgraced when finishing a close fifth in the Pertemps handicap hurdle qualifier. This was a big step up in trip and he seemed to see it out okay - he certainly possesses plenty of ability and he now has a few more options open to him.
There was a thrilling finish to the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown on Saturday afternoon as Carlingford Lough followed up his 2015 success. Ruby Walsh unseated from Valseur Lido when holding every chance at the last although I am not sure it would have made any difference as Carlingford Lough rattled home. A P McCoy, who was successful aboard the winner was there to present the prize to J P McManus so it was just like old days!

It is unbelievable to think that you can still get 9/4 about Leicester winning the Premier League while Arsenal are as short as 15/8. After all this time there can be no semblance of fluke about them being top and they murdered Manchester City 3-1 at the weekend and it could have quite easily been 6-1! Chelsea and Manchester United fought out a draw and that leaves United 6 points away from a Champions League place...it certainly isn't the United of old.

I was having a few computer issues over the weekend and had to reset my password. My computer told me that the new password had to be at least eight characters long so I chose...Snow White and the seven dwarfs! People keep asking me where I get them from...I am not sure if they are having a go at me or not?!
