There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps action from Towcester (who have survived an 8am inspection) and Musselburgh as well as all-weather flat cards from Kempton and Lingfield.  The stable has runners at both jumps meetings and Tom Scudamore travels up to Scotland for the ride aboard Impulsive American in the 2.15pm race at Musselburgh.  Our four year old has been consistent thus far without managing to get his head in front and he ran as well as ever last time out and gets in with only 10-11 due to his four year old's allowance.  He certainly has the ability to win a race of this nature and the Racing Post have put him in as the jolly.

At Towcester the stable is represented by Chic Theatre and Closer To Home.  Chic Theatre (pictured above) is second favourite although William Bonney is a warm order at odds of around 2/7.  Chic Theatre did win a bumper on good/soft ground although he will obviously need to improve on his first effort over hurdles at Leicester to trouble the favourite.  Meanwhile, Closer To Home had some nice form on the flat in France although he hasn't translated that ability to hurdles thus far.

Conditional jockey Kieron Edgar went all the way to Ayr yesterday for one outside ride and it duly won by nine lengths at odds of 8/1.  What do they say about jockeys going to one meeting for just one ride?  I wish I had taken more notice!

It was the Grand National weights in London yesterday and The Skygarden looked like a spectacular venue to hold it.  As far as I am concerned, Soll looks to be the main hope from Pond House with a weight of 10-11 and at odds of around 40/1 I am sure you could do a lot worse.  Of the other entries I like the look of Holywell who has dropped to a very interesting mark based on the best of his form - he is currently a 20/1 chance and the faster the ground, the better he will go (which doesn't look too likely at present!).  Last year's winner Many Clouds is the bookies favourite at 12/1.

Chelsea were beaten 2-1 at Paris St Germain in the Champions League last night although I think they can still win the return leg at home.  They defended very well and will be more attack minded at Stamford Bridge.

Snooker player Ronnie O'Sullivan seems to have left that 146 nonsense behind him as he won 4-0 yesterday against China's Tian Pengfel.  I see that bookmaker Paddy Power has offered The Rocket £61,000 if he does make a 147 maximum break in Cardiff.  Ronnie has said that if he does he will give £11,000 of it to charity.  All sports need their characters!

I have a joke about a fat badger but unfortunately I couldn't fit it into my set!  Keep smiling...
