Three At Donny

There are four meetings (hopefully!) taking place this afternoon with two jumps cards from Lingfield and Doncaster, although they both have to pass early morning inspections.  There are no such issues with the all-weather flat cards from Lingfield and Kempton.  Tom Scudamore is off to Donny to ride Chic Theatre, Mount Haven and Shotavodka.  Chic Theatre seemed to show improved form when chasing home a useful rival at Towcester last time and this easier track could be in his favour.  Mount Haven was a winner last time out at Ludlow on heavy ground and while it is not exactly lightning fast, he will appreciate this slightly easier surface and looks to have each way claims.  Meanwhile, Shotavodka is dropping down the weights although like me, he isn't getting any younger...let's hope he can run a good race.

Tom Scudamore pulled off a great riding performance at Taunton yesterday afternoon aboard the Colin Tizzard trained Sonny The One.  He had to ride with his feet out of the irons for a large part of the final circuit after his stirrup leather came undone and he did and incredible job to finish a close second.  Mind you his voice has gone a bit squeaky and Lottie didn't have to worry about feigning a headache last night!

Everyone says that the English Premier League is the best in the world but how can that be so when Arsenal are beaten 2-0 by Barcelona (who looked a class apart)?  Lionel Messi scored both goals in a vintage display that is going to leave it extremely difficult for Arsenal to qualify.  Manchester City are 13/10 to win against Dynamo Kiev at 7.45pm and it is covered by BT Sports Europe - if Manchester City play their first team they ought to win, but that is a big 'if'.

Chelsea look to have a bit of a dilemma as Antonio Conte looks likely to take over as manager of the club.  Guus Hiddink has done a good job with them since Mourinho was sent on his way and it would seem that the players would like Hiddink to continue.  The trouble, he doesn't seem to want to stay!
