Un Temps Pour Tout on the Gallops

Today is the start of Cup Final week for Horse Racing, it is of course the start of the Cheltenham Festival.  There is also another jumps card at Sedgefield and David has one runner at the Northern track, Bladoun in the 3.45pm race.  He is looking to follow up his win at Exeter last week and he once again teams up with Michael Heard on board so fingers crossed he should go well.  There are also two all-weather flat cards at Southwell and Wolverhampton.  At Cheltenham we run Un Temps Pour Tout in the 2.50pm Ultima hanidcap chase and View Lion Rouge in the 4 mile National Hunt chase.  Un Temps Pour Tout is a 14/1 chance and they go 7/1 the field.  On his hurdle form, whic included winning the French champion hurdle last summer, he should go close but so far his chase form has not quite matched this.  Tom Scu rides and he does have an each way chance.  Vieux Lion Rouge is priced at 25/1 in the 4.50. He won over three miles at Haydock this season and was second over three miles at Ascot last time.  He has a small each way chance at a big price.

I think Nicholas Canyon will run well in the Champion hurdle.  My Mullins man tells me Vroum Vroum Mag is a steering job even in a 20 runner race.  My Henderson man fancies Altior to turn over Min in the 1.30.  Easy!!!  Of course it's not and as you would expect we have some fantastic, top class, ultra competitive races to look forward to and the weather looks set to be glorious.  As usual at Cheltenham we have our marquee and it is full every day.  The noise that is made when the first race goes off is deafening and sends a shiver down your spine.

Willie Mullins tried to jump a small stream with a new pair of boots on yesterday at Cheltenham and he landed in the middle of it!  I hope that is not a sign of things to come for his yard, I'm sure it won't be!

Could Leicester be Premier League Champions?  They beat Newcastle 1-0 last night.  I think it would be good for football if a little unbelievable!  Harry Redknapp is back in football.  He is the new Director of Football at Derby County until the end of the season.  MCP and myself had lunch with Harry a couple of weeks ago, he is a real character.

I knew I was going bald when I was taking longer and longer to wash my face!  Have a nice day and good luck everyone!
