There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumping from Exeter and flat action from Southwell, Lingfield and Kempton. David has three runners at Exeter today; Twentytwo's Taken, Brook and Dusk Till Dawn. Twentytwo's Taken (pictured above) is coming back from a break of 340 days and she is a winner of four of her races, three of them being on soft ground and one on heavy so the prevailing ground conditions should hold no fear for her. She stays well and conditional jockey David Noonan will take 5lbs off her back and I expect her to acquit herself creditably. Brook steps up in trip to three miles and the distance looks as though it will suit although he will need to improve on recent efforts to figure. Dusk Till Dawn is a winning point-to-pointer and despite a fall last time he may run better than his form figures.

It didn't take long for the England bubble to burst! Having beaten Germany last week, our national side was beaten by a very poor Dutch side last night. When I look at the team manager Roy Hodgson put out; Rose, Smalling, Stones, Drinkwater, Milner, Barkley or Sturridge would not get into my England team. Furthermore, how can Walcott or Jagielka be substitutes? We certainly appear to lack any great strenght in depth. The star man for England was once again Jamie Vardy although as soon as Wayne Rooney tells Roy Hodgson that he is fit again he will probably drop Vardy. As you can probably tell, I am not a great fan of Hodgson. He is too old for my liking and he seems to have run out of ideas.
Talking of football, I see that the press have panned Wayne Rooney's appearance on the televised coverage. You wouldn't exactly say that Wayne has an engaging personality and sat alongside Ian Wright who has that in spades, while also knowing what he is talking about - he never had a chance! Meanwhile, there was a good result for Scotland as they beat Denmark 1-0, while the Republic Of Ireland drew 2-2 with Slovakia.
The big cricket match is the first semi-final in the World T20 between New Zealand and England at 2.30pm on Sky Sports. I really like this format of cricket as you can sit through an entire match and get a result. Personally, I can't think of anything more boring than county matches - my son says that they are too long and nothing much happens. For once, I have to say that I agree with him!

Thought for the day. If I had a pound for every woman that found me unattractive, they would eventually find me attractive!
