Three at Uttoxeter

There are six meetings today, flat cards at Doncaster, Goodwood, Newmarket and Thirsk plus two jumps cards at Hexham and Uttoxeter.  David has three runners at Uttoxeter, Baby Sherlock, Katkeau and Dusk till Dawn and Tom Scu rides them all.  Baby Sherlock would have to improve on what he has shown so far.  He did finish third in a bumper but this does look quite a good maiden hurdle.  Katkeau has won two chases and looks to have a chance in this valuable race.  He did pull up last time but that was in the Midlands National over 4 miles where he did not appear to quite get home after travelling well.  Dusk till Dawn is having his first run over fences but he is an Irish point to point winner and the 3 mile trip will suit.  

The big flat race is the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.  There are 13 runners and they have won 21 races between them.  Aiden O'Brien comes over with Air Force Blue who has won his last three starts in good style.  Ryan Moore will give him every assistance in the saddle and I think he will take all the beating.  Last night Heath Hunter ran okay on ground that was probably too quick.  The good thing won at Fontwell, Banyu and the Hobbs and Johnson team started off the new season with a double.

There are some good football matches over the weekend and today there is and important one at the bottom of the Premiership, Newcastle play Crystal Palace.  Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce is trying to wind up Crystal Palace.  I think he thinks they will turn out a weak team as Palace are in the Cup Final.  Big Sam could be right.  I want to back Newcastle at 21/20.  Sunderland play away to Stoke.  Stoke are 7/4 but having said that Stoke have had a couple of beatings at home recently.  I cannot see Norwich getting any points away to Arsenal.

Why did Dele Alli appeal against his three match ban for violent conduct?  Everyone saw the punch on television.  Did he hope that the FA did not have a television?!

Did you hear about the stingy robbers?  They did a smash and grab raid and would have got away with it but they went back for the brick!  Have a nice day.
