Off the Mark

        Katkeau - Winner at Uttoxeter

Today we have five meetings, flat cards at Windsor, Bath and Beverley plus two jumps meetings at Kempton and Warwick.  David runs Mozo and Still Together at Warwick.  Mozo is ridden by Conor O'Farrell and in her race there is a 1/8 favourite, Dusky Legend who already has a mark of 131.  Still Together has Michael Heard on board and he has got some okay bits of form but was disappointing last time at Exeter.  He has blinkers on today and hopefully that will bring about some improvement.  Purple N Gold runs at Kempton with Tom Scu in the saddle.  He never seems to run a bad race!  He was second off today's mark at Chepstow last time out and with a similar run he should go close.

Katkeau got David and Tom off the mark for the season at Uttoxeter on Saturday.  I thought Tom Scu gave him a great ride and our nine year old stayed on very well and got up to win by 1/2 a length.  There was good prize money of £18,000 to the winner so it was a great start to the new season.  

The smile was back on Aiden O'Brien's face after he had the first three home in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket.  The favourite Minding looks a real superstar and has now won four times.

Leicester moved a point nearer to becoming Champions.  They got a draw at Man United.  They are getting a bit nervous and had Danny Drinkwater sent off, the second red card they have got in their last three games.  If Spurs do not win at Chelsea tonight, Leicester will be champions.  Mind you most Leicester fans will probably want them to beat Everton at home next weekend so they can celebrate on their own pitch.

Manchester United's Fellani should get a ban for elbowing Robert Huth in the neck in yesterday's game.  Mind you, it was caught on camera so the FA should ban him anyway.  There were some funny results yesterday.  Southampton beat Man City 4-2 and Swansea beat Liverpool 3-1.  At the bottom Norwich look in trouble after losing to Arsenal on Saturday.

Lewis Hamilton is moaning about his fuel - he would really moan if he had to pay for it!  If I was him I would join the AA relay, they always get you home!

Fifty is when you eat death by chocolate cake with the nasty suspicion it might just be that!
