We have just two meetings this afternoon and they are both jumps cards with the action coming from Plumpton and Ludlow. The stable runs Iniciar (pictured above) at Ludlow in the 3.05pm and he has been in good form, winning on his penultimate start before finishing third last time. The horses that finished either side of him have run creditably since so the form stacks up well and Daryl Jacob is in the saddle. Meanwhile, Tom Scudamore, Michael Heard and David Noonan all head off to Plumpton so it looks like a day out for our jockeys - let's hope they have the nous to share the same car! If you have never been to Plumpton before it is well worth a visit - you can catch a train from London and it stops on the track, you just just walk across the middle...not even I could get lost!
Attheraces presenter Matt Chapman has likened Leicester winning the Premier League to buying a horse out of a seller and then winning the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe with it. Well, I once claimed a horse out of a claimer that went on to win the Champion Hurdle. I am of course referring to Make A Stand who be bought from a Leicester claimer - MCP still says that he claimed him but I know different!
I see that Liverpool are odds-on shots to win the Europa Cup and if they do so they will gain entry to the Champions League. It is one of the biggest games in Liverpool's history so let's hope that they get a result. Every club wants to be in the Champions League as there is so much money involved. Daniel Sturridge looks like a class striker and is only 7/4 to start for England in the opening Euro 2016 match against Russia. Seville will be a tough match but I am on Liverpool.
I keep looking at the bookmakers adverts in the Racing Post and I am staggered by the number of special offers. They must be making so much money that they are in a position to give away free bets with every winner you back at 3/1 or bigger, money back as a free bet if you horse finishes 2nd, 3rd or 4th, £25 free bets to new customers...it goes on and on. Back in the day they used to give you nothing...with all the small type I wonder if that much has really changed?!

Finally, a thought for the day - you know you are getting old when getting lucky means that you have won the lottery!
