Another crowd of jockey's took the wrong course at Huntingdon yesterday.  They were all conditional jockeys and the thing that puzzles me is that I thought all conditionals were supposed to walk the course beforehand?  Quite a few of them have had plenty of experience and I am surprised that they didn't know that when you come to a rail in the middle of the course, that you are supposed to go to the left-hand side of it...well all of them except for two went to the right of the rail!  The race in the end went to the favourite Dancing Daffodil in the hands of Christopher Ward, who went on to complete his first double.

Somehow these courses need to make the layout more idiot-proof than they already are.  It is an occurrence that happens far too often and is something that isn't exclusive to the novice riders, but the professionals as well so it is obviously not as easy as us armchair jockeys would believe it is.  It will be interesting to see what happens to Christopher Ward's other winner as I notice that he was referred to the Jockey Club.  His mount Roxanne Bruere showed improved form (having never finished in the frame before) and was well supported to boot.

There is an early start at Kempton this afternoon with the King George meeting kicking off at 11.50am.  There will be nine races and all eyes will be on Kauto Star as he bids for his fifth consecutive success in the big one at 3.00pm.  A P McCoy takes over from the injured Ruby Walsh aboard the favourite and I am sure that there is enormous pressure on him to succeed - he is however, the right man for the job.

We enjoyed five winners on the Pipeline yesterday, while we also had two winners from three selections on our text tipping service which included a 9/2 winner - the lucky pin certainly keeps working!  To subscribe to our Text Tips, simply text the word PIPE to 84010 (texts cost £1.50 per message - to unsubscribe text PIPE STOP to 84010, helpline 01884 840715).
