I was saddened to see that Comply Or Die has passed away at the age of 17. I am sure most of you will remember him giving David the highlight of his career when winning the 2008 Aintree Grand National under Timmy Murphy. I saw him participating in parades at both Cheltenham and Aintree over the last couple of months and he was looking fantastic, in fact Gerry Supple rode him around the parade ring at Aintree with some of the other Grand National winners from previous years. He gave David a great start to his career and fulfilled a long held ambition of late owner David Johnson.
This afternoon there are five meetings taking place with flat action from York, Lingfield and Bath while there is jumping from Worcester and Perth. Our stable jockeys go to Worcester with Tom Scudamore, Conor O'Farrell, David Noonan all picking up spare rides at the Midlands track. Tom looks to hold the best book of rides with his mount aboard Calin du Brizais in the first looking the pick. Both Conor and David were in winning form at Wincanton yesterday with the former successful aboard Sheer Poetry for Richard Woollacott - the good ground and application of a tongue-tie seems to have improved her markedly and it would be no surprise to see her turned out again quickly under a penalty before Mr Nasty can have his say!

I see that it is former snooker world champion John Parrott's 52nd birthday today. John came down to Pond House one evening to entertain a number of our owners - he was good fun and surprisingly good at table tennis as well! Many happy returns John.
I'm forever blowing bubbles! Firstly, while I am thrilled by the result of the West Ham versus Manchester United game last night, I am appalled by the actions of the idiots before the match. Surely someone must have seen the people throwing things at the United coach - if you do, go along to the police station and tell them who it was. Having said that, I do agree with Graham Souness who asked why they were so late in the first place? They were late to get to Spurs a couple of weeks ago as well. Fine United and that should pay for the repairs to the bus. A sad way to end West Ham's tenure at Upton Park despite the fantastic 3-2 victory. As far as I can see United need at least four defenders and two central defenders who can head the ball - West Ham should have won 6-2 last night, they missed so many chances and they murdered United through the air. The next Manchester United manager certainly has his work cut out for him. Anyway, I hope you backed West Ham last night, I will playing up some of my winnings on Sunderland tonight.

Why don't polar bears like penguins? Because they can't get the wrappers off! Have a nice day...
