Today we have three meetings taking place with action from Ripon on the level and Market Rasen and Stratford over jumps.  David has four runners at Stratford; Miss Williams, Mount Haven, Honeymoon Cocktail and Houston Dynimo.  Mount Haven (pictured above) was a winner over hurdles last season and now tries his hand over fences in the novices' handicap chase and he looks to hold decent claims.  Meanwhile Houston Dynimo contests the 2m5f handicap chase under regular rider David Noonan - he won a valuable veterans' race last term although I don't think Houston realises he is that old!  He should run his usual game race.  Miss Williams looks to have been found a decent opportunity, while Honeymoon Cocktail makes his hurdling debut.

I see that champion jockey Richard Johnson has rides in the six of the seven races at Market Rasen this afternoon and Sonofagun looks to have a live chance in the 4.55pm race.

Well, it's Premier League day with ten matches to look forward to so you know where I will be!  Liverpool are 21/10 to beat West Brom, Manchester City are 8/15 to win at Swansea and Southampton are 4/11 to win at home to Crystal Palace - my biggest concern is that sometimes when there is nothing meaningful left to play for these clubs can play some of their youngsters rather than a full strength side.

There was no problem for West Ham to fill their new Olympic Stadium as the 52,000 season tickets were snapped up by fans with several thousand others on a waiting list.  Maybe they should have found a bigger stadium?!  Interestingly, I see that Chelsea want a ground share in 2018.

I was listening to heavyweight champion boxer Tyson Fury the other day and he certainly knows how to upset people with some of his views.  The first time he fights someone who is any good he will get knocked out and we won't have to listen to his opinions any more!  Having said that, he says he will retire after the Klitschko fight win, lose or draw...we will see.

The Spanish Grand Prix is on this afternoon at 1pm and Lewis Hamilton needs to recapture his winning form in a hurry if he is going to retain his drivers' championship.  Team-mate Nico Rosberg is on the verge of signing a new £25 million a year contract with Mercedes and furthermore he is rumoured to have nicked all of Hamilton's mechanics to boot...maybe that is why Hamilton's car has been having problems?!

Have a nice weekend!
