There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with four flat cards from Newcastle, Nottingham, Lingfield and Wetherby as well as a jumps fixtures from Huntingdon. I don't know if any of you agree with me, but I am struggling to get my head around the fact that Wetherby is now holding racing on the flat?! There are no runners from the stable this afternoon although jockeys Tom Scudamore and David Noonan travel to Huntingdon for just one ride each and they are both 6/1 chances, so no forlorn hopes by any stretch of the imagination.
I see there was a bit of a shake up in the ante-post market for the Oaks after second favourite So Mi Dar was made a non-runner after pulling out lame yesterday. Trainer John Gosden says she will now head for the Irish equivalent instead.
While we are on the subject of flat racing, I see that Clive Cox trained his first two year old winner yesterday and I am sure it will be the first of many. We paid a visit to see John Francome recently and had a look at the very impressive estate he has built. Clive is the tenant there and he has use of the excellent facilities.
I see that David is still advertising Ennistown for sale - I can't believe that no-one has bought him yet. He is a winner of six races on the flat and over hurdles and has won on a variety of ground from good/firm to soft. Furthermore with a rating of 101 on the flat, he will also be able to take any prospective owner to the big meetings under either code. He will make a chaser in time and I have to be honest, I thought that David had snapped up something of a bargain in this attractive six year old. If you have any interest, do give David a call in the office and tell him that Chester sent you! I sound like that Darren Clarke advert!

I see that Mercedes team-mates Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton have travelled over to headquarters in Brackley and they have been kept well apart to avoid their relationship from boiling over. Why can't they just shake hands and move on? Having said that, they are generating plenty of publicity and any publicity is good publicity.
It is Manchester United against Bournemouth tonight and United look like a good bet at 17/20. That will go down a bomb with punters!

Groucho Marx once said, "If I never see that woman again, it will be too soon!" I am better qualified to appreciate that one than most! Have a nice day...
