There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat action from Ayr, Bath and Kempton, while there are jumps fixtures from Warwick and Southwell. It looks like being a busy day for stable jockey Tom Scudamore who rides at Warwick this afternoon before heading off to Southwell this evening. David has one runner today; Heath Hunter (pictured above) who is in the 5.05pm race at Warwick and is set to carry top weight of 11-12 less Michael Heard's 5lbs claim. The Post make him a 10/1 chance and he would have each way claims at his best, although all of his wins have come with plenty of give in the ground.
David has been going through the sales catalogues ahead of today's auctions at Doncaster. In fairness, he has a pretty good eye for a bargain so if you are interested in purchasing do give our office a call - there are some nice types going through the ring over the next couple of days.
I see that it is actor Nathaniel Parker's 54th birthday today. He won't need much make-up to play old men anymore! I remember Nat coming into our Cheltenham Festival marquee a few years back and giving me some right stick, although it was all in good fun...I think!

The big football match today is the Europa League final between Liverpool and Sevilla. It is on BT Sport at 7.45pm and is a massive game for the Scousers who gain entry into the Champions League if they win. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will really wind-up his players - you only have to see how he runs up and down the sidelines to see how he works, in fact Ryder Cup captain Darren Clarke wants him to have a word with his golf team! I will be reinvesting some of my Manchester United winnings on Liverpool at 7/5. I will also be having a little bet on Brendan Rogers at 8/11 to become the next Celtic manager. The former Liverpool boss wants this gig really badly.
If you don't want to play for your country in the European Championships, then make sure you play for Manchester United! Seven of United's players have failed to be named in their national squads. I had better stop having a go at United, otherwise I will be receiving more e-mails.
Other than Andy Murray, why is it that the British tennis players are so bad? The Lawn Tennis Association has spent millions on facilities and coaches and are no nearer getting another decent player. If anyone has the answer let me (and more importantly the LTA) know!

Did you hear about the cross-eyed teacher? He couldn't control his pupils!
