***Moon Racer, Ramses de Teillee
non-runners at Worcester today***

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat action from Goodwood, Lingfield, Sandown and Ripon, while there is a jumps fixture from Worcester.  David has plenty of runners at Worcester; Brook, Ramses de Teillee, Moon Racer and Perspicace.  Let's start with Moon Racer (pictured above), the 2015 Champion Bumper winner who is due to make his hurdling debut this afternoon.  I am really looking forward to seeing him over timber having won three of his four starts in National Hunt flat races.  He put up a decent performance in the Punchestown Champion Bumper last time, just failing to get up after a long absence - he could well be top class over hurdles.  Brook finished runner-up last time out and should be thereabouts once again, Ramses de Teillee won an Irish point-to-point in good style and should go well on his debut for the stable in the bumper, while Perspicace finished a good second at Towcester last time and is due to go up by 5lbs in future handicaps so he also looks to have a good chance.

Many happy returns to Peter Deal who is a very young looking 77 today.  Peter has always reminded me of the chap from the old British sit-com "To The Manor Born", Richard DeVere who was played by Peter Bowles.  Peter has had some wonderful horses at Pond House down the years including the likes of Make A Stand and Blowing Wind.

I see they are going to measure the Newcastle track again after the winning times were shown to be very fast with sectional timings expert Simon Rowlands saying that the time of the seven furlong race was ludicrous.  Perhaps they need to invest in a new measuring tape?!

It must be a nice problem to have, sorting out your ten entries for the Epsom Oaks!  That is the dilemma Aidan O'Brien is facing - most trainers would be delighted to have half that many high class fillies.

I did my money last night as Liverpool lost the final of the Europa League to Sevilla 3-1.  I have to say that Sevilla did look different class and were sunk by a pair of goals from Coke - he was up and down the line all night!

Rory McIlroy hosts the Irish Open for a second time this weekend.  He has missed the cut for his home event for the last three years.  At the moment he is struggling to put four rounds together and his putting has been a bit off.

I find it hard to believe that England have no batsmen in the top ten to score 10,000 Test runs.  Skipper Alistair Cook should soon put right as he is fast approaching that total on 9,964.

News flash...A lorry load of wigs has been stolen in Manchester.  Police are combing the area!  The old ones are the best...
