There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat fixtures from Leicester, Redcar, Lingfield and Wolverhampton as well as a jumps card from Towcester. David runs Dusk Till Dawn (pictured above) at Towcester in the three mile handicap chase at 3.40pm. He carries a 7lbs penalty for his success at Newton Abbot last week and he is due to go up by 8lbs in future handicaps so he is 1lb 'well-in'. He jumped slightly to his right at Newton so this right-handed track should suit. Tom Scudamore is in the saddle once again and another big run is expected. Meanwhile Tom has picked up a nice outside ride aboard Lakeshore Lady in the 2.40pm and conditional jockey David Noonan has also picked up a spare in the lucky last.
If you have a spare day or two it would be well worth a visit to Cartmel for the racing. The track is like no other that I have ever seen and the small town nearby is very cosy. My only problem is the parking - racegoers tend to leave cars all over the place and the roads become terribly blocked. Mind you, the last time I went to Cartmel I was a passenger in Martin's helicopter - funny, you don't seem to have any problems parking something that size!
There is only just over three weeks now until the big referendum. So what do we do? Do we stay in or get out of Europe? One of my old bosses (and a prominent racehorse owner) has had companies and business all over Europe and he is in favour of leaving the EU. He would know more about Europe than the government - most of them have never even worked in Europe so I will be following my former boss.

Roy Hodgson is set to name his 23 man squad for the European Championships today. I would imagine that quite a few players will be on edge.
Talking of football, one of our local sides, Plymouth Argyle took 30,000 supporters to Wembley for the play-offs over the weekend but sadly they lost 2-0 to AFC Wimbledon. It was a great performances from AFC who only started out in 2002 in the Combined Counties League. They have made unbelievable progress so very well done to them.
England cricket captain Alastair Cook managed to break through the 10,000 Test runs mark and it is a great achievement when you consider that he is the youngest ever player to do so.

Finally, did you know that my ex-wife and I were happy for twenty years? Then we met! Have a nice day...
