Today there are five meetings, flat cards at Nottingham, Chelmsford and Ripon plus jumps cards at Fontwell and Cartmel.  David has just one runner, Houston Dynimo in the 4.40pm at Fontwell, a 2m5f handicap chase.  He is an 8/1 chance in the Racing Post and although he has been a little disappointing in his last few runs he has dropped down in the handicap and if re-capturing some of his old form he would have a good chance.  Our 'hot' jockey David Noonan takes three pounds off and having won off a mark of 122 in the past we hope he can run well off 114 this afternoon.  David Noonan looks to have another great chance of another winner on board the Polly Gundry trained mare Alderley Heights.

Yesterday at Towcester there was an incident which once again highlighted why we are lucky to have plastic rails these days.  A horse called Buachaill Beag crashed through the wing and luckily both he and jockey Philip Donovan were okay as it looked very nasty on the TV.  Dusk Till Dawn ran okay at the track to finish third.  A mistake 3 out cost him momentum at a valuable time but he kept on all the way to the line but was always being held by the winner.  

Leicester was abandoned yesterday after two races due to unsafe ground just after the winning line.  It was slippery after rain fell on firm going and the officials had no choice on safety. 

The England football squad for the European Championships was announced yesterday.  I think with the players picked we will score goals but we will also concede a lot in defence!  Hodgson has gone all out attacking and it looks like 18 year old Marcus Rashford will get a game.  It is a lot of pressure on one so young and in experienced.  This could be the managers last championships in charge.  It never seems to stop raining in Paris.  The officials wanted the tennis matches to go on at the French Open but the stars rebelled against playing in the rain!  Andy Murray's quarter final was postponed on another dismal day at Roland Garros.
