Cork Citizen - Winner at Ffos Las

Today we have six meetings, five flat cards at Epsom, Catterick, Doncaster, Goodwood and Bath plus a jumps card at Market Rasen.  Bath get away with £30,000 for their 7 race card, even the jumps card at Market Rasen has £45,000 for seven races.  Tom Scu goes to Market Rasen for three rides, the two for David Bridgwater look to have chances.  The big race of the day is the Oaks, a Group 1 for fillies at Epsom.  Aiden O'Brien only has three of the nine runners but mind you he has the first and third favourites.  I suppose if Minding runs to form she should not get beaten.  She was beaten last time by a head in the Irish Guineas but they were 10 lengths clear of the third, Ryan Moore rides.

Cork Citizen battled on gamely to win at Ffos Las last night.  The better ground and slightly lower mark seemed to do the trick.  It was good prize money of over £6,000 to our winner. Having been headed he looked sure to second but a great ride by Tom Scu got our gallant eight year old with his head in front on the line to win by a neck.

I see the 4th placed horse in the seller at Lingfield yesterday, Bunchaillnaheirean was claimed for £5000 by Neil King.  It was beaten just over 10 lengths.  Seemed a slightly strange one to me but he must have his reasons!

England beat Portugal 1-0 last night but Portugal only had 10 men for over half of the match.  Having said that, Bruno Alves nearly took Harry Kane's head off with a really high tackle and it is one of the worst I have ever seen.  England's attacking line up seemed to run out of ideas and in the end it was defender Chris Smalling who scored the winning goal.  All I can say is that it cannot get any worse can it?!

My good thing for the French Open ladies tennis nearly came unstuck yesterday.  Serena Williams was taken to three sets by 21 year old Yulia Putintseva.  She now plays Dutch outsider Kiki Bertens in the semi-final.  It's juts like buying money!

Ronaldo nearly moved to Paris Saint-Germain for £139 million last Saturday.  After he scored the winning goal in the Champions League final the fee went up to £193 millions.  It just sounds ridiculous to me!

How do you make anti-freeze?  Hide her woolly blanket!!  Have a good day.
