Single Runner

Today there are six meetings, flat cards at York, Sandown, Goodwood and Chepstow plus two jumps cards at Newton Abbot and Aintree.  David runs Gabrial the Great in the 3.55pm at Newton Abbot.  This is his first run over fences in this 2 mile novice chase.  He has won three times on good ground but he can be quite keen so let's just hope the larger obstacles help Tom Scu get him settled.  If he does he would have to have a chance, despite it looking a fairly competitive little contest.

I bet all the ladies clothing and shoe shops are rubbing their hands together ahead of Royal Ascot next week.  If you are interested there is also some horse racing action there to!  I have only ever been a couple of times.  So many people just go for the fashion and just to be seen!  Also, I look like a penguin in a top hat.  Hopefully David will have some runners there but both Low Key and Starchitect need a few horses to come out of the Ascot stakes for them to get a run.  I think Starchitect would have an outstanding chance if he were to get in.  Tom Marquand and Joe Fanning are booked to ride if they make the cut.

The Euros start today with the hosts, France playing Romania.  France are 3/1 on.  The big match for us is tomorrow when England play Russia.  England are 10/11 favourites and surely if we are going to progress we have to win this.  I see the England lunatics are already causing trouble over there.  The drunks were throwing chairs about outside some pubs in Marseille.  What is wrong with people, why can't they enjoy themselves without getting drunk and causing trouble?  On the field, I agree with what Tony Adams says.  He said that playing Rooney messes the system up.  I think we need Kane and Vardy up front with plenty of pace.  Rooney does not seem to have a position to play and he is quite slow.

The England cricket team got out of trouble yesterday with a ton from Jonny Bairstow.  Captain Cook also had a good knock and England are now on 379 for 6 so it means we cannot lose.  I need rain so my draw comes up!
