Today we have four meetings taking place, all on the flat with action from Carlisle, Thirsk, Windsor and Nottingham and unsurprisingly David has no runners today. The stable did have one runner over the weekend when Impulsive American travelled back up to Scotland to try to add to his impressive Scottish record on the flat at Musselburgh. In the end he finished fourth, although the form book says "exaggerated waiting tactics might have cost him this time as he was last leaving the back straight, he can be given another chance". I have never seen a horse so far back and he did well to finish fourth, that is all I am going to say...
It is former stable jockey Peter Scudamore's (pictured above) 58th birthday today and it was certainly good to see him over the weekend. We went out with him on Saturday night and it was fascinating to hear some of his stories about his time with Martin. I can't believe that I was as bad as he made out! We once had a fall out at Kempton and Scu said to me that if we are going to fight, let's go behind the stables. I must have been a bad loser!

It was disappointing to see England only muster a 1-1 draw with Russia over the weekend. Manager Roy Hodgson has completely lost the plot as striker Harry Kane looks completely worn out, his hard season at Spurs looks to have caught up with him. I am not sure why he has him taking the corners either, surely he should be in the middle heading the ball? As far as I am concerned you need Vardy, Rashford and Sturridge in our attack - England slaughtered Russia but only ended up with one goal and that is never going to be enough. Hodgson's days are numbered I'm afraid, I would have Harry Redknapp in charge - he would certainly stir things up a bit.
I could do with some rain today so the cricket ends in a draw. It doesn't sound very patriotic but I did have a bet on the draw at 7/2, the problem is that I can't see Sri Lanka batting all day to save the match so I will be doing a rain dance.
Lewis Hamilton won the Canadian Grand Prix yesterday and is now only 9 points behind championship leader Nico Rosberg. Rosberg seems to have completely lost his way since their coming together in Spain and now looks a sitting duck. I bet you are impressed by my knowledge of Formula One!

Which TV presenter lies around on a boat all day? Dec! It's definitely Monday...
