There are five meetings to look forward to this afternoon with action from the second day of the Royal meeting at Ascot supported by flat cards from Hamilton, Ripon and Chelmsford City, while over the sticks there is a fixture at Uttoxeter. David has one runner this afternoon as Brook (pictured above) takes in the 3m2f handicap chase at 5.20pm. He is a 6/1 chance according to the Racing Post and he was still going alright at Worcester last time when he fell at the twelfth fence. His three wins have all come with cut in the ground so today's going ought to suit him and he should go well under stable jockey Tom Scudamore.
There was some great racing from Royal Ascot yesterday with one of the highlights for me being the success of American mare Tepin. The Breeders Cup winner is clearly right out of the top drawer - she could have earned more money at home in the States, but she came over here and showed us how good she is on ground that probably would not have suited her particularly well. The other one to seriously impress me was Coventry Stakes winner Caravaggio, who I am told is as quick as anything they have at Ballydoyle and judging by yesterday's performance, they could be right. Meanwhile, Frankie Dettori rode a great tactical race to win the battle of the Guineas winners in the St James' Palace Stakes aboard Galileo Gold.

There was some result in the Euro 2016 championships when Iceland drew with Portugal. Without wishing to be rude, that must seem like a win to Iceland. I had a few quid on Portugal so I will not be shopping in Iceland for a while and I will be giving my holiday to Portugal a miss! Can you tell that I am not a very good loser?! Hungary should also be pleased with their 2-0 win over Austria.
Speaking of the football, I see that Gareth Bale is trying to wind-up the England team by saying "I wouldn't want any of you in my side!" The trouble is, he might have a point - I hope we stuff the Welsh all the same!
I had to laugh when I saw a picture of Jose Mourinho with his case. It is black with a big silver star on it...I guess it is just in case he forgets who he is!

I see that British number one tennis player Andy Murray has teamed up with his former coach Ivan Lendl once again. Looking at Lendl, you wouldn't want to upset him and if he told me to do something, I would certainly do it! Anyway, he can only be of benefit to Murray.

Where would we be without rules? That's right, France. Where would we be with too many rules? Germany...have a nice day.
