         Ballynagour head the weights
                at Market Rasen

It is a busy day on the racing front with seven meetings around the country.  There are flat cards at Newbury, Newmarket, Ripon, Haydock and Lingfield plus two jumps cards at Market Rasen and Cartmel.  Lingfield have seven races on their card and have got away with prize money of just £33,000 for the day.  Meanwhile, there is good prize money on offer at both of today's jump meetings.  David has three runners at Market Rasen, Ballynagour, Kalifourchon and Castlemorris King and Tom Scu rides all three.  Ballynagour has top weight of 11st 12lb in the competitive chase and is 8/1 in the early betting.  He was put up five pounds for a good second at Uttoxeter last time and is back to a rating of 157.  This was back to form and a repeat of this from our high class chaser should see him thereabouts.

Kalifourchon runs in the 3.55pm handicap hurdle and is a 7/1 chance.  He won at the track last time out and is only three pounds higher this afternoon.  The drop back in trip is not a concern but once again there is good prize money on offer and it looks a fairly competitive race.  Castlemorris King runs in the 4.30pm novice handicap chase.  He is a 6/1 chance.  This is only his third start for the yard and he has won off a mark of 126 over hurdles in the past and runs off 125 this afternoon.  He is another who hopefully should be in the shake up.

One of my mates has told me he has a tip for a Richard Fahey horse in the Super Sprint at Newbury.  I thanked him but now realise he has seven in the race and he did not tell me which one!!

Talk about changes in weather.  The morning starters in the golf at Royal Troon got the best of the day.  Phil Michelson leads on 10 under but Henrik Stenson is 9 under and Soren Kjeldson is 7 under.  Both shot good rounds and are used to playing in these conditions.  There are some big names that only just made the cut including Danny Willett and Bubba Watson.  Surely the weather has got to get better.

In the Test cricket England reached a score of 277 for 7 but are still 84 behind.  It looks like it could be a draw as long as we get a few more runs.  In the football transfer news, how can Crystal Palace pay £20 million for Saido Berahino and also Man Utd are talking about paying a £105 million fee for Paul Pogba, has to World gone completely mad?!  The answer to that is yes!

I only make mental bets and coincidentally I've lots my mind!  Have a nice day.
