It is another all-flat day with five cards from Bath, Catterick, Lingfield, Sandown and Leicester. Once again, the stable does not have any runners today although we may have a runner at Worcester when the jumps resume tomorrow. Talking of the flat, has anyone else noticed that Hayley Turner is more visible now during her retirement than she ever was when riding? She is due to appear on a Question Of Sport tonight so that should make for an interesting watch. I remember going on the show in years gone by and the captains were boxing legend Henry Cooper and Welsh rugby union player Cliff Morgan - it was made in Wolverhampton and I stayed with Irish footballer Derek Dougan...now there are three great names from the past.
Sir A P McCoy the film star! Well not quite, but the former champion jockey will be launching a series of films aimed at helping apprentices and conditional jockeys. It will show everything about what it takes to become a jockey and A P (pictured above) would know more about what is required than most. It can only be good for the sport and it is good to see Sir Anthony continuing to play an important role in the sport even though he is no longer continually amazing us in the saddle. Who knows, maybe he can inspire a future champion jockey through these films?

What is going on with the vacant England football manager's job? The FA have now spoken with Steve Bruce...it's funny, but I thought he was a big mate of the other leading candidate Sam Allardyce? Maybe things are about to get tasty?!
I see the shirt worn by Andy Murray when victorious in this year's Wimbledon final is going to be auctioned for charity. It will be signed and framed and the proceeds will go to Malaria No More UK. Bids can be made until 28th July at www.charitystars.com/andymurray but be warned, you are going to need deep pockets!
Following Alistair Down's comments about Sky's golfing coverage I was pleased to see that Peter Healey agrees with me. He says it was grippingly brilliant television that concentrated on the sport and not on presenters...I am glad somebody else agrees with me for a change!
Talking of golf, former world number one golfer Tiger Woods has pulled out of next week's US PGA Championship and will not participate in any tournaments this year. Sadly, the best days of Tiger seem to be a distant memory.
Last night my girlfriend told me that I was one in a million. Then she told me all about her ex-boyfriends and it turns out I really am one in a million! Have a nice day...
