There are four flat cards today at Thirsk, Chepstow, Nottingham and Lingfield.  It is hard to believe but there is actually a jumps card at Newton Abbot tomorrow, I bet a few of the jumps jockey's will have forgotten how to ride!.  David has a few entries at Newton so let's hope there is a runner or two from the yard.  The Charlie Mann trained Sureness was second in Spain yesterday at San Sebastian picking up £7200 in prize money which will have covered the costs to get there.  The trainer is now talking about running her at the San Siro in Milan.

The Mongol Derby looks to be some race.  It's not only the Word's toughest but also the longest race.  They have 10 days to complete to 1000km marathon.  Qatar's racing manager is enjoying the experience and said "Sunday was one of the ten best days of my life".  David Redvers spent the night in the rain on the grassland on the Mongolian Steppe.  He must lead a sheltered life, I bet he wishes he had a sheltered Sunday!

I see the Murray brothers lost in the men's doubles at the Olympics and also the Williams' sisters lost in the ladies doubles.  I wonder if it was a Grand Slam tournament whether you would get the same results?!

I am turning my attention to the football tonight with the cup matches.  Brighton are 8/15 to beat Colchester, Derby are 4/9 to beat Grimsby and Ipswich are 4/7 to beat Stevenage.  That will give me some interest when I look up the results.

Four South African cricketers have been banned for between 7 and 12 years for trying to fix matches.  All four are at the end of their careers, why not just ban them for life or even better put them in prison?  Unless the sentences are severe you will not stop cheating.  The Olympics tell you that.

Middle age is having a choice between two temptations and choosing the one that will get you home earlier!  Have a nice day.
