Citrus - Runs at Worcester
Today we have five meetings, three flat cards at Salisbury, Beverley and Yarmouth plus two jumps cards at Worcester and Stratford. David has five runners at Worcester, For N Against, Dusk till Dawn, Poisoned Berry, Rathealy and Citrus. For N Against was a bit disappointing on this track last time out but if he returns to his Market Rasen form her will go close. Dusk till Dawn also runs in the same race and similar comments apply. Both horses wear blinkers and hopefully this will help them show some improved form. Poisoned Berry is having her first run for the stable in the mares bumper. She has had two good efforts for Fergal O'Brien and looks to be the form horse in the race and looks to have a good chance. Rathealy carries top weight in the handicap hurdle and tries a new trip of 2m4f for the first time. He needs to return to form. Citrus makes his yard debut in the maiden hurdle. He has some good form in France and has finished second in to bumpers. He was only beaten a neck last time out and he should go close.
Tom Scu rides four of our runners with David Noonan riding Dusk till Dawn. Lady of Longstone ran okay to finish fifth at Newton Abbot yesterday. She made a bit of a mistake at the first and although generally she jumped okay it was probably not quite as good as it was at Worcester. I am sure she is capable of winning over the larger obstacles, maybe when she goes handicapping.
I thought I saw James Bond at Newton Abbot yesterday but it was only his boss Judi Dench! It was a very big holiday crowd, they should have more meetings at this Devon track.
The Engalnd cricket team are 4/7 to win the Test which starts at the Oval today. I am not sure there is too much between them - I might just watch this one! My 9/2 draw was looking good last time until Pakistan collapsed in the second innings.
It looks like manager Roberto Di Matteo has got some job to do at Aston Villa. The Midlands club lost 3-1 at Luton last night. Villa need new players but I am not sure the club wants to spend the money. If you are a player at Watford you are going to be in for a tough time as manager Walter Mazzarri has planned all the players from smoking even though he smokes himself!
Be nice to your kids, they'll choose your nursing home! Have a nice day.
