     Gabrial the Great - Runs at Southwell

Today we have just two meetings, a flat card at Pontefract and a jumps card at Southwell.  David has two runners at Southwell, Gabrial the Great and Purple N Gold.  Gabrial the Great won first time out over fences and was third at Newton Abbot last time.  He should run well again and looks to have a sound chance with Tom Scu on board.  Purple N Gold always seems to run his race.  This is another valuable contest  but I still give him a chance especially over this 2m4f trip.  It was a three way photos and he was third last time out at Uttoxeter.  He is sure to give his running and should be thereabouts again.

I see a few of our flat jockeys are off to France today to ride in a Group 1.  Frankie Dettori rides favourite Galileo Gold for Hugo Palmer.  I supposed Paris is a bit more attractive compared to Pontefract today!  I have never been to Pontefract but I have been to all of the Paris tracks.

I see that Aussie jockey Kerain McEvoy was fined 300 dollars for relieving himself in the starting stalls at Randwick.  The trouble for him was that it was caught on TV!  Anyone could have made that mistake, after all they are called stalls!

There are two cracking games of football on today.  The early kick-off is Bournemouth versus Manchester United at 1.30pm.  It will be interesting to see how the special one's team have progressed as according to him they only need a year to win the title.  The other game is Arsenal versus Liverpool at 4pm.  Arsenal need another centre half and quickly!  I am not sure Wenger wants to spend anymore money.  You would think that it is his own money he is spending!  He must be on some sort of bonus not to spend money.

I read that Amir Khan wants to fight Conor McGregor twice, one of the fights he wants to be a mixed martial arts contest.  He says it is not a publicity trick - who is he kidding or should I say kicking!
