The stable enjoyed a good evening at Worcester last night with Skylander winning the 2m7f handicap hurdle.  Michael Heard managed to force his head in front on the line under a good ride, with his 5lbs claim making all the difference between winning and losing.  Perspicace also ran creditably under top-weight to claim third under Tom Scudamore.  They shouldn't go up too much in the handicap for this...famous last words!

There are five meetings to look forward to this afternoon with action on the flat coming from York, Chepstow and Hamilton while there are a couple of National Hunt fixtures from Stratford and Fontwell.  David runs Houston Dynimo and Standing Ovation at Stratford.  Houston is a 10/1 chance according to the Post and he looks well-treated on a mark of 106 considering he has won from a rating of 122.  He would need to improve on his most recent efforts to get his head in front but that is not beyond the realms of possibility, especially with the ground likely to suit.  Standing Ovation runs in the staying chase at 5.15pm - the trip of 3m3 1/2f should be right up his street and he is another who looks feasibly weighted on his best form.  Stable jockey Tom Scudamore rides the pair.

How unlucky can you get?  You may remember jockey Chris Meehan had his leg broken when he was run over by an ambulance that had come to tend to him following a fall when riding in Italy.  The good news is that he has had his cast removed and the rider said, "You have to laugh really" - I am not sure I would have taken such a light-hearted approach to it all.

I see that Vladmir Klitschkois going to take Tyson Fury to court.  It seems as though they are having a few problems arranging their return fight...I would imagine there would be more excitement in the court room than in the ring!  They are particularly poor heavyweight champions and I reckon this could be one of the worst divisions of all time.  Let's hope that Anthony Joshua can return it to the glory days.

Record purchase Andre Ayew who cost my beloved Hammers £20 million is out for the season.  He played only 35 minutes for West Ham!  I guess things can only get better...
