There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Yarmouth, Chelmsford City and Newbury as well as a jumps fixture from Southwell. Tom Scudamore has picked up an outside ride in the 2.15pm race aboard paper favourite Presenting Streak - the pair were successful last time out at Stratford and I reckon the 'one ride theory' could work with this one!
I'm sure all the lads in the yard agree with the lifetime bans that busty models Jessica Hayes and Katie Salmon have been given by all British racecourses after exposing their ample cleavage at the Cheltenham Festival! Who needs that?!
It is owner Fergus Wilson's birthday today and I remember Fergus inviting us up to Stevenage not long ago to attend Jimmy Greaves' birthday party. It was a great evening and I caught up with some amazing characters there including Chelsea 'Chopper' Harris. He said, "the ball often went past me but the player never did". I reckon Chopper would have seen a few red cards these days.
It is good to see that Kieren Fallon seems to be doing well and has returned to riding out at Newmarket for Willie Haggas. While riding out at Somerville Lodge Fallon is continuing to undergo treatment, travelling back to Dublin every Tuesday for his weekly rehab appointment. Fallon was a great champion and a very hard man to beat - if I ever had a few quid on the flat, he is the man I would want in the saddle.
The British jumps trainers championship makes for good reading at this time with David leading the way on £181,974 although as you know, I have always been of the opinion that it should be decided by winners trained. Amazingly, for a trainer who doesn't seem to favour summer racing so much Nicky Henderson would be on top in that case with 29 winners. We will stick with prize money for now!

There is plenty of football action to look forward to tonight with EFL Cup matches taking place. I will be having a cheeky little wager on Blackburn at 1/2, Crystal Palace at 2/5, Newcastle at 4/11, QPR at 3/4 and Watford at 1/2 for five home wins, while I reckon there will be away success for Liverpool at 2/5, Hull at 6/5, West Brom at 21/20 and Stoke at 4/7...you heard it here first!

There's a girl I really fancy at my AA meetings...I'm getting up the courage to ask if she fancies going out for a drink!
