There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat action from Bath, Lingfield and Carlisle, while there are two (yes, two!) jumps fixtures from Southwell and Newton Abbot. David has four runners at our local track, Newton Abbot - in the 5.05pm race he runs forecast favourite Poisoned Berry (pictured above) who was a Worcester bumper winner on her debut for the stable on good ground. She has schooled well at home and this trip of 2m5 1/2f should suit her. We also run old favourites Houston Dynimo and Lady Of Longstone (both have won from higher marks, albeit Lady Of Longstone was over hurdles), while Rathealy carries top weight in the trappy little handicap hurdle. Rathealy needs to improve on his recent starts to figure. We were due to have a runner at Southwell, although Mr Burgees does not now take his chance.
We had one runner at Worcester last night as Nice Thoughts was sent off favourite for the closing maiden hurdle. He was still in with a chance when making a mess of the second last which certainly didn't aid his prospects and he should be up to winning something similar.
Nice Thoughts wasn't the only beaten favourite yesterday - I see that Thankyou Stars was beaten at odds of 1/16 at Hamilton! He was backed from 1/8 to his finishing SP...I just wonder who bets at these sorts of prices? Anyway, they will be light of a few quid this morning.
I always smile when I see David Loder's name against a National Hunt runner - I used to get some good information when he trained all of those good two year old's for the Godolphin operation. It must be a strange transition for him.

England beat Pakistan in the one day cricket international at Trent Bridge and set a new record of 444 runs. The 6/5 that was available about England winning the series 5-0 is starting to look more appealing! Having said that, I don't suppose they are that price anymore. Alex Hales hit a cracking 171 runs from only 122 balls and it was the highest score of all time by an English cricketer in limited overs matches.
US Presidential candidate Donald Trump is getting into sport now. He told NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick to move countries after he refused to stand for the national anthem. Both men certainly divide opinion!

I just heard that one of the seven dwarfs kissed a giraffe. According to sources, the other six put him up to it! Have a nice day...
