Two Sedgefield Runners

Today there are four meetings taking place with flat action from Salisbury, Haydock and Chelmsford City while there is a jumps fixture from Sedgefield.  The stable makes the long trip up to Sedgefield this afternoon with two runners; Skylander and Gabrial The Great.  Skylander was a winner last time out at Worcester and needed every inch of the 2m7f trip to prevail so this marathon distance should suit him, although he is 4lbs higher in the weights today.  Hopefully the longer trip may bring about a bit more improvement.  Meanwhile, winning chaser Gabrial The Great reverts to hurdles and looks to have solid claims under Tom Scudamore.

Houston Dynimo was the best of our runners yesterday evening, the veteran running a great race to finish a close second in the handicap chase trying to concede 20lbs to the winner - he is on a good mark now and his turn does not look far away.

I see the jumpers are going to lose out once again next season as we lose another fixture on a Bank Holiday in favour of a flat meeting at Southwell next year...sounds like another great decision!

England take on Pakistan in the latest one day international from Headingley today.  The home team are now 4/7 shots to white wash the Pakistani's 5-0 in the series.

Can anyone tell me why the football teams leave it so late before signing their new players?  Speaking of which, how can Chelsea sign David Luiz - the 29 year old cost £32 million and that smacks of a panic buy to me.  Meanwhile Jack Wilshere goes out on loan to Bournemouth.  I thought that most people went to Bournemouth to retire!  Good business for Bournemouth, not sure for Wilshere though.

i was reading a few extracts from the Kerry Dixon story yesterday and it says that he earned £130,000 a year yet owed the bookmakers £135,000 - he was even sent to an addiction clinic but that didn't seem to help.  Gambling is a terrible thing if you become an addict.

There was a mystery as during a performance in a concert hall in Bermuda last night the man playing the triangle disappeared!
