It was another good weekend for the stable with the success of Gabrial The Great at Uttoxeter yesterday. I thought that conditional jockey David Noonan gave our gelding an excellent ride - he can be a bit keen (the horse that is, rather than David!) and he did a great job of keeping him settled at the back of the field before coming with a well-timed run to score a shade cosily. Racing manager Jason Maguire was also on hand and he too thought the young pilot had done a good job.
Over at Plumpton our other runner Mr Burgees finished fourth and didn't jump with the fluency he had displayed at home, making a couple of errors. This was his first run in a while and I am sure he is capable of better and will be getting plenty more practice over his fences.
There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with the action coming on the flat from Kempton, Leicester and Hamilton - unsurprisingly, the stable does not have any runners.
Just imagine what it would be like if you were a jockey on a three year losing run. 24 year old Jason Nuttall ended such a run with the victory of Osgood at Plumpton yesterday. I always knew that Peter was good...you oldies will know what I am talking about!

'The Special One' Jose Mourinho may not be so special after all. He always seems to blame someone else when things go wrong. This time it is his full back Luke Shaw who was in line for the rocket as United lost to Watford. Mourinho said that it was the players' mental attitude. I hate to say it, but Rooney is looking well past his sell-by date and Fellani shouldn't get a place in any Premier team. Let's see just how good The Special One is as United are already six points behind City.
Meanwhile Stoke looked very poor against Crystal Palace while Southampton beat Swansea to complete my cheeky my little double...I hope a few of you followed me.
It is a pity that we only have one world class tennis player in Andy Murray. We were beaten 3-2 by Argentina with Leonardo Mayer beating Dan Evans in four sets - the Argentinian never looked like losing.
Lewis Hamilton looked below par for a third straight race as he was beaten into third at the Singapore Grand Prix yesterday. He has lambasted people who criticize his playboy lifestyle. He racked up 17,000 miles and visited 7 countries during the course of a week - I am sure that it was all work, work, work!

Finally, a thought for the day. People normally get what's coming to them...unless it is sent via Royal Mail! Keep smiling...
