There are four meetings today, two flat cards at Catterick and Newcastle plus two jumps cards at Bangor and Chepstow.  David has three runners at Chepstow this afternoon, Citrus, Sweettoothtommy and Thunder Pass.  All three are ridden by Tom Scu.  Citrus runs in the 1.30pm maiden hurdle over 2m3f.  He was placed in four French Bumpers and was disappointing first time out at Worcester for the yard but he must be better than that.  He has been given a little break and hopefully we should see a different horse this afternoon.  The Racing Post have him at 7/1.  Sweettoothtommy runs in division 2 of the maiden hurdle at 4.05pm.  He has ran well in four Irish point to points and although he disappointed on his only run for the yard last season he should like the good ground that is forecast.  He is 12/1 in the Post.  Thunder Pass runs in the handicap hurdle at 4.35pm.  He was rated 85 on the flat but has been a bit disappointing over hurdles so far.  This is his first run in a handicap and they have him at 7/2 second favourite in the paper.

Tom Scu also rides Thistlecrack at Chepstow as he makes his chasing debut in the 3.35pm.  He is already the Gold Cup favourite and is 7/1 on to win this race.  He has a hurdle rating of 174 and so has about 4 stone in hand over the others and so he needs to win impressively and I think he will.

Jonjo O'Neill's son, Jonjo junior looks like following in his fathers footsteps, he won the amateur riders handicap at Leicester yesterday at 50/1.  He was three pounds wrong in the handicap but it did not look like a fluke.

It is Liverpool versus Tottenham tonight at 7.45pm on Sky Sports.  The problem is you don't know if either team takes these matches seriously.  Liverpool are best priced 3/4, also Newcastle 11/20 might be okay in the double.  Jose Mourinho seems to be taking his frustrations out on his captain Wayne Rooney after Man United's 4-0 defeat at Chelsea.  He has told him he can leave if he can find another club.  Sounds like a bad loser to me!  I see that Anthony Joshua's fight with Klitschko is off.  Klitschko has a calf injury.  Boxer's seem to get more injuries in training than any other sports.  I think he really might have bottled it and simply does not fancy the fight.

Apple pie isn't American unless you eat the whole thing in one sitting!  Have a nice day.
