There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Hereford and Plumpton while there is an all-weather flat card from Kempton.  David has one runner this afternoon as Awesome Tunes (pictured above) goes in the 2m4f handicap hurdle at Plumpton at 3.10pm.  The Post make him a 14/1 chance and he could prove a little bit of each-way value.  This trip could suit our former Irish point-to-point winner who is partnered by stable jockey Tom Scudamore.

Port Navas showed his best form to date when finishing runner-up at Huntingdon yesterday in the 3m1f handicap hurdle, albeit beaten a fair distance.  Having said that, he saw out this longer trip very well and suggested that he should be capable of winning something similar.

What an incredible amount of travelling some of our jockeys do.  I see that Ryan Moore was in Japan over the weekend to win aboard Maurice before going to Australia to ride in the Melbourne Cup.  Then it will be over to the States to take in the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita.

If you are going to hold a beer festival you must make sure that you do not run out of 'exciting beers that you won't find in a local pub'.  That was the advert for the beer extravaganza at Huntingdon yesterday...you guessed it, they ran dry before the fourth race!

Halloween came early for our cricketers as our batsmen had a nightmare against the spinners in Bangladesh.  I dread to think what the Indian spinners are going to do to our line-up as they are different gear to Bangladesh.  It was the first time Bangladesh have beaten us and our worst performance ever - maybe our cricketers are not as good as they think they are?

Lewis Hamilton followed up his US Grand Prix success with victory in Mexico yesterday to keep his hopes of a fourth world title alive.  Lewis hasn't been doing so much partying over the last few weeks...I wonder if it has helped?  He still trails team mate Nico Rosberg by 19 points with two races remaining and Rosberg didn't exactly look disappointed to finish second.  He can afford to finish second and third in the last two races (even if Hamilton wins) and still win the championship.

I thought Chelsea looked good in beating Southampton 2-0 and Diego Costa looked almost looked loveable...mind you, I still can't believe that he is only 27!

There is a good match to look forward to today as Stoke take on Swansea at 8pm on Sky Sports.  Stoke are 11/10 chances and look interesting to me.

I hate it when the clocks change.  I was half an hour early for work this morning!
