Four Fixtures Today

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Nottingham and Kempton as well as a couple of jumps fixtures from Chepstow and Musselburgh.  The stable does not have any runners today although stable jockey Tom Scudamore goes to the Welsh track where he has picked up a couple of decent outside rides.  Citrus fared the best of our runners at Exeter yesterday when finishing fourth in the novices' hurdle - he wasn't beaten all that far and can win a little race somewhere.  Poisoned Berry finished sixth in the same race and a similar comment applies to her - a terrible mistake at the second certainly didn't help her chances yesterday.

What a run from Tony Martin's Heartbreak City to finish a narrow runner-up in the Melbourne Cup yesterday.  He was only beaten a head by 10/1 chance Almandin although he still picked up over £400,000 in prize money so it is a fair consolation prize.

There was a great result for Manchester City last night as they beat Barcelona 3-1.  To get a result like that against Neymar, Messi, Suarez and co is a great achievement and easily the best result of the season so far.  The best player on the pitch was Sterling who certainly earned his money last night.

The tax payer has had to fork out an extra £51 million so that West Ham can play at the former Olympic Stadium.  I reckon that nearly every West Ham supporter would rather be back at Upton Park, not least because at least the police can control the ground there.  Meanwhile, there was another good result for Arsenal last night as they came back from 2-0 down to beat Ludogorets 3-2.

Tottenham Hotspur take on Leverkusen tonight at 7.45pm and I will be having a little investment on Spurs at even money...you heard it here first!

Former world number one golfer Tiger Woods will end a 16 month absence at his Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas next month following his latest surgery.  Not a bad place to make a comeback I guess - let's hope that it goes well for him or this could be the end of the line.
