There is a big day of racing ahead with five meetings taking place. The jumps action comes from Aintree, Kelso and Wincanton while there are flat fixtures from Doncaster and Chelmsford, while don't forget this evening there is the second day of the Breeders Cup meeting from Santa Anita. The good news is that Channel 4 are covering racing from Aintree and Wincanton. David saddles three runners at Aintree; Ennistown, Unanimité and Un Temps Pour Tout.
Ennistown and Unanimité contest the Pertemps Hurdle qualifier at 2.05pm and both were last time out winners over the sticks although Ennistown has since run in the Cesarewitch where anything that could go wrong for him did so. With £20,000 up for grabs it is obviously a competitive little race and both of ours look to have solid claims - Tom Scudamore is aboard Ennistown while David Noonan claims a handy 3lbs off of Unanimité's back.
French Champion Hurdle and Cheltenham Festival winner Un Temps Pour Tout makes his eagerly awaited seasonal debut in the 2 1/2 mile hurdle at 2.40pm. There are only five runners but it is a fairly select field with the likes of Zarkandar in opposition. The main focus is the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury in three weeks time and while these would not be his optimum conditions it should serve as an ideal prep race and he should certainly go well.

It looks like another cracking day of action in the Premier League and there would appear to be some solid home bets...famous last words. I will be having a little acca on Bournemouth at 4/6, Chelsea at 4/7, Manchester City at 1/4 and West Ham at 11/10. I am not sure about the Hammers but I can't desert them.
Football management is certainly an interesting occupation - just look at former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson. He has just been axed by Shanghai SIPG but will walk straight into another job with Beljing Guoan. It has to be one of the best jobs in the world where you get a handsome pay-off for failing miserably. Former Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is being tipped to take over at Shanghai.

Thought for the day...Children - you spend the first two years of their lives teaching them to walk and talk and the next sixteen years telling them to sit down and shut up! Have a nice weekend...
