There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps action from Bangor, Exeter and Ayr as well as an all-weather flat fixture from Kempton.  Tom Scu faces a long journey as he travels all the way up to Scotland to take the ride aboard Red Square Revival at Ayr in the 2m4f maiden hurdle at 1.10pm.  Our five year old already has a win under his belt courtesy of his sole previous start in a Worcester bumper and this looks like a good opportunity to supplement that success.  Meanwhile, David has three runners more locally as Kalifourchon, Gary Charm and Poisoned Berry all compete at Exeter.

David Noonan takes the ride aboard Kalifourchon who was a winner first time out this season and if he were able to recapture that form he would have a leading chance from the same mark of 120.  Michael Heard rides Gary Charm and he takes a handy 5lbs off his back.

Poisoned Berry goes in the 2m2f mares' novices' hurdle at 3.40pm.  She showed a good attitude when winning her bumper and with David Noonan's 3lbs claim, she has only 10-7 to carry.  Passmore looks like the one we have to beat.

Talk about putting your head on the chopping block, I see that Jonjo O'Neill has said that his former World Hurdle winner and BetVictor Gold Cup entry More Of That is the the best horse he has ever trained.  Considering he has won the Cheltenham Gold Cup that is a bold statement indeed!  He will need to win this weekend to be proven correct...I will be watching with interest.

England made a steady start to the first test match in India.  The main thing that stood out to me though was that there was hardly anybody in the stands.  I thought Indians were crazy about cricket.  It just goes to show that it is not just over here where cricket spectators are looking for a 'quick fix' of their favourite sport.

I see that Joey Barton is set to return to English football after tearing up his contract with Rangers.  I can't quite believe that Rangers have agreed to pay Barton eight weeks' wages (which equates to about £150,000) to end their relationship.  Barton has not been training after producing a doctors note that said he was stressed - players these days do not know they have been born!  When you left your last job did you get a £150,000 pay-off.

Did you hear about the scarecrow who won a nobel prize?  He was outstanding in his field!
