There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with the action coming from Warwick, Chepstow and Kempton.  David has runners at Chepstow and Warwick with Sweettoothtommy, The Two Amigos, Carqalin, Cafe de Paris and Gary Charm.  Sweettoothtommy contests the 13 runner novices' hurdle at Chepstow at 12.50pm - he had some decent form in Irish point-to-points and has each way claims at odds of around 14/1.  The Two Amigos goes in the other division and his chance looks to be more obvious with our Irish point-to-point winner certainly capable of better than he showed at Newton Abbot last time.  Carqalin, Gary Charm and Cafe de Paris would all have to improve upon recent form and are fairly big prices.

Over at Warwick Perspicace (pictured above) has to carry top weight in the conditional jockeys handicap hurdle at 2.40pm.  He is partnered by David Noonan who takes a handy 3lbs off his back.  He is only 2lbs higher than when winning at Uttoxeter so he has claims although this looks like a competitive contest with several rivals showing good recent form.

I did my money yesterday (not for the first time!) by backing England to beat Spain.  I was counting my money as England were 2-0 ahead so you can imagine how I felt after Spain equalised in the 90th minute!  Will I ever learn?

If you enjoy a spot of snooker there is a match to savour as Jimmy 'Whirlwind' White takes on Ronnie 'Rocket' O'Sullivan in the Northern Ireland Open.  They have not played each other for 14 years and I reckon if you blink you could miss this one!  Meanwhile world number 10 Mark Allen beat Mark Joyce 4-1 in yesterday's grudge match.

The second cricket test between India and England gets underway tomorrow morning at 4am.  I thought England played well in the first match, especially our spinners and they can be backed at 16/5...I love backing England in any sport - as I said earlier...will I ever learn?!

I was coaxed back into a bit of a ping pong return yesterday when I took on one our visitors, I have to say he was very good and would definitely have beaten MCP...sorry Mart!

Finally, these David Pipe employees get everywhere.  One of them was spotted at Graceland with his old buddy Elvis only recently, I kid you not....Chubby our decorator recently went on a trip of a lifetime and took in the sites around Tennessee.  He had a great time, thank you very much!

With all the recent news stories about road accidents involving mobile phones it made me wonder how many people are actually involved in crashes having read the signs telling them to keep their eyes on the road?
