There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Market Rasen and Wincanton while there are two all-weather flat cards at Newcastle and Chelmsford City. David does not have any runners this afternoon but stable jockey Tom Scudamore travels to Market Rasen where he has picked up three outside rides and he looks to have some reasonable chances.
Although we didn't manage to get on the scoreboard yesterday I thought that some of our runners performed with distinct promise at Chepstow. Sweettoothtommy finished third in the first division of the novices' hurdle at 16/1 and I did say that he had an each-way chance - there look to be races to be won with him. I also thought that Cafe de Paris shaped with promise in the closing staying handicap hurdle in fifth. He won plenty of races in France and I wouldn't be surprised to see him successful on these shores over fences.
Over at Warwick there were problems for Neil Mulholland when his newcomer Runasimi River could not be identified by the racecourse vet by his passport meaning the horse could not run. Have said that, I do not look much like my passport photo...I am much better looking!
I love it when a trainer is confident about his prospects. I see that Colin Tizzard has said that "The Betfair Chase is Cue Card's race, I'm pretty confident". You can't get much more of a tip than that although I am sure that former Gold Cup winner Coneygree is going to have something to say about it in the hands of champion jockey Richard Johnson.
I see that there has been a record number of entries for the Welsh National at Chepstow. Can you believe it is only six weeks away? The £150,000 race has attracted 102 entries and it just goes to show that if the race and prize money are good, it will attract entries.

Wayne Rooney is on the receiving end of some stick for getting drunk in the England team's hotel. Sources say he looked a right mess - I am not sure how they would tell as he always looks the same to me! Apparently he even tried playing the piano - I wonder if it was Singing In The Wayne or perhaps those other classics Do You Know The Way To Can Jose, Coleen On Me or my favourite, Who Let The Dogs Out?! Oh dear, I think I had better leave it there...
The Rocket beat The Whirlwind in the Norther Ireland Open snooker yesterday with O'Sullivan dishing out a 4-1 pasting of Jimmy White. Ronnie had a break of 141 but that was bettered by John Higgins who hit his eighth 147 break as he won his match.

I bought a litre of Tipp-Ex today...big mistake! Keep smiling.
