Today we have just two cards to look forward to but at least they are over the sticks with the action coming from Exeter and Huntingdon.  David has a couple of entries at Exeter with Abracadabra Sivola (pictured above) contesting the three mile chase at 1.20pm and Nice Thoughts in the conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle at 4.00pm.  Abracadabra was successful on his debut for the stable last season and has to defy top weight on his reappearance, Tom Scudamore is in the saddle.  David Noonan takes the ride aboard Nice Thoughts and he has some decent placed form to his name, although he was a little disappointing last time out.

If you follow jockeys then the one who has been in flying form lately has been northern-based rider Brian Hughes.  He rode a five-timer at Musselburgh on Monday and finished runner-up on his other two mounts.  Confidence makes such a difference to a jockey - just ask Paddy Brennan who has just surpassed the 1,000 career winner mark, he is currently operating at a 32% strike rate.  I do feel for poor old Andrew Thornton who is agonisingly close to 1,000 winners himself - the trouble is he has gone 152 days without a winner...it must be hard seeing all these other jockeys catching and passing him to that landmark.

There looks to be a good card from Punchestown this afternoon with three good things on the card; Identity Thief, Disco and Nichols Canyon...I might just risk a little wager!

I see that Gary Anderson has said that if he wins the £100,000 Grand Slam of Darts today he will go shopping for a fat boy.  I didn't even know what a fat boy was, but apparently it is a £17,000 Harley Davidson motorbike.  Let's hope the Harley shop just around the corner has one in stock...it could mean some very good publicity for them.  It seems ironic, there are plenty of fat boys playing darts!

Apparently Jamie Murray used to beat older brother Andy at tennis when they were kids...oh, I forgot to add the table bit!  He was better than Andy at most sports including table tennis - not a lot of people know that!
