There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Plumpton and Ffos Las while there is an all-weather flat fixture from Wolverhampton. The stable runs Work (pictured above) in the 12.45pm race at Ffos Las, a juvenile maiden hurdle. Our three year old filly won her last two starts at Chelmsford City on the level before David bought her from the sales. She looks to be on an upward curve and has schooled nicely at home. Tom Scudamore takes the ride and she looks to have decent prospects on her first outing over timber.
I thought that Miss Tynte performed creditably in the bumper at Carlisle yesterday to finish fourth although it did not look like she quite got home on this stiff track. I think it will be a different story next time if returned to an easier course. Meanwhile, I had to chuckle when I heard one of the wags say "Freddie's Portrait was always going to make the frame" at Carlisle - just my sort of humour!
There was an imperious performance from Douvan on his seasonal reappearance yesterday . He just had to school round to collect the £29,000 on offer for the Grade 2 contest and the Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March looks to be his for the taking.
I see that it is David McGreavy's birthday today. David is a bloodstock agent these days, although he once 'gained access' to the Newmarket Lawn Tennis Club just so I could play his mate at ping pong...I kid you not! He also used to be one of the auctioneers at Tattersalls in Newmarket. A real character and a bit of a monkey, racing needs more people like him. Many happy returns David.

We don't seem to have any top class goalkeepers at the moment. There were two howlers at Anfield from West Ham's Randolph and Liverpool's Karius. Liverpool are certainly not going to win anything with Karius in goal and it is anything but the first howler he has made this season. It looks as thought Chelsea and Arsenal are going to be fighting it out for the title. The rest of the teams just can't seem to defend.
Oh dear, England's cricketers were beaten again over the weekend by India and they are looking like one of the worst test sides we have fielded in the last 20 years. Where have all the cricketers gone? I reckon the test side is struggling due to the amount of one day matches they have to play nowadays.
Anthony Joshua looked a bit special in knocking out Eric Molina - it will be a big fight against Klitschko at Wembley and is sure to be a sell out.

Tip for the day...save money this Christmas by simply buying your kids an Easter egg each and telling them they overslept!
