There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with a jumps card from Bangor supported by a couple of all-weather flat cards from Chelmsford City and Wolverhampton.  David has one runner this afternoon as Gary Charm takes in the 3m5 1/2f handicap chase at Bangor at 1.05pm.  He ran with credit last time at Wincanton over 3m1f, staying on strongly in the closing stages so he looks likely to be suited by this extreme test of stamina.  Stable jockey Tom Scudamore takes over on board.  Tom also looks to have decent prospects aboard his brother's Twenty Eight Guns in the 12.35pm race.

I thought that Stay Out Of Court ran a cracker at Ffos Las yesterday when he was beaten less than a length by favourite Robinshill in the two mile novices' hurdle.  He looks like a winner waiting to happen and given that he was placed in Irish point-to-points there is every chance that he will be suited by further in time as well.  In the same race Martabot did not shape at all badly in fifth place on his first start in this country and his first start in two and a half years - I will be keeping an eye on him.

I was at the yard yesterday and I saw David schooling some of the horses.  I was impressed by Work (pictured above) who you may recall looked the likeliest winner at Ffos Las recently when hitting the penultimate flight and unseating Tom Scudamore.  She is a lovely big filly and jumped nicely from what I saw and she clearly has plenty of ability.  David tells me that there is still a 25% share available in her and she could make someone an amazing Christmas present!

All of the experts are weighing in with their thoughts about the big match-up in the King George at  Kempton on Boxing Day.  Ruby Walsh says that he would choose to ride Thistlecrack, while his former boss Paul Nicholls says that Cue Card is the one to beat.  If they can't agree then the rest of us have little chance of separating the pair!  I guess we will just have to wait to see what happens.

It looks as though long standing Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could be off to Paris St Germain.  It seems that the French club have done their best to lure him away as his contract with the London side comes to an end in the summer.  At least he won't have any problem with the language.

I recently got a job as a shepherd.  The trouble is, I can't even count my flock without falling asleep!  Have a nice day...
