          Rathealy runs at Fakenham

Happy New Year to you all!  Today there are six meetings, jumps cards at Catterick, Cheltenham, Exeter, Fakenham and Musselburgh plus a flat card at Southwell.  ITV kicks off with four races live from Cheltenham.  Lets just hope they make a good impact and like my wife says, are not too technical!  David has one runner at Cheltenham, Doctor Harper in the 12.50pm.  It is a 3m2f chase which looks quite competitive.  He has to improve on recent form but does have ability.  Tom Scu rides.  David has three runners at Exeter and David Noonan takes the ride on all three.  Sadlers Gold runs in the 1.15pm, 2m2f handicap hurdle.  He won last time out at the track but that was over 600 days ago.  Smiles for Miles in the 3.30pm handicap chase is another returning from an absence, over 700 days!  It is good to have both of these horses back on the track and will be interesting to see how they get on.  Mr Clarkson is the third runner at Exeter, he runs in the 4.00pm bumper.  This is his Pond House debut after finishing second in and Irish point to point and David bought him at the Cheltenham sales.  This stiff track should suit and we hope he can run well.  

David has two runners at Fakenham as well and Michael Heard rides both of these.  Rathealy is making a quick reappearance after winning at Leicester earlier in the week.  He has come out of the race well and he should run well again.  Vincent's Forever is a three year old having only his third start over hurdles.  He improved on his debut effort last time at Taunton and hopefully he can take another step forward this afternoon.

If you are going to any of the meeting's today please allow plenty of time to get there as there will be big crowds at all of the meetings.  If you follow trainers that are in form, Willie Mullins has 22 winners in four days over the Christmas period.  That was made up of two six timers and two five timers and owner Rich Ricci had 10 winners from 15 runners!

I watched the darts match between Gary Anderson and Dave Chisnall.  Chizzy bottled it a bit and probably should have won.  They play such high quality darts these days and the check outs are amazing.  Arsenal play Crystal Palace at 4pm and Watford play Spurs at 1.30pm.  An Arsenal Spurs double for me.
