***Update – Taunton Abandoned***
The stable enjoyed a nice winner at Chepstow yesterday afternoon when Shaama Grise ran out a very impressive winner of the mares' handicap hurdle under Tom Scudamore. The further she went, the better she seemed to go and readily went one better than on her debut at the track twelve days earlier. She looks to be on an upward curve and can go on to better things. This was a qualifier for the Mares' Challenger Series, the final of which David won with Lady Of Longstone last season.
Sadly Ascot has already fallen to the elements this morning with overnight frost freezing the track leaving it unraceable. Let's hope that there is some better news from Taunton who inspect at 9.30am. Haydock are also due to hold a jumps card and there are no problems reported there at present. Meanwhile there are a couple of all-weather flat cards at Lingfield and Newcastle. Should Taunton get the go-ahead we will have plenty of runners there with Ramses de Teillee, Sweettoothtommy, Dell' Arca and Celestial Path representing the Pond House team.
Ramses de Teillee goes in the National Hunt novices' hurdle at 1.10pm and he posted a promising first effort under rules at the track last time out. Our former winning pointer jumped well and finished a close fourth in what looked like a decent race for the course - he wouldn't have to improve much on that effort to be in the thick of the action again. Sweettoothtommy contests the novices' handicap chase over 2m7f at 1.45pm and has to shoulder top weight of 11-12. He ran okay at Plumpton earlier in the week and this does look like a slightly easier assignment. Dell'Arca is another who has to carry top weight as he runs in the seniors' handicap hurdle at 2.20pm. He was unlucky not to win at Kempton last time out and should go well once again despite a 3lbs higher mark. Celestial Path is our final runner at Taunton and he was very smart on the flat, finishing third in the Group One Racing Post Trophy as a two year old and fifth to Gleneagles in the 2,000 Guineas. He was well beaten in the Tolworth on his hurdles debut by this is an easier race and the tighter track might also help him see out the trip.
Conditional jockey David Noonan heads up to to Haydock for the mounts aboard Heath Hunter and Gevrey Chambertin - both are fairly big prices but would have fair each way prospects if performing to their best. If stable gossip is anything to go by Alary should be the one to beat in the Peter Marsh Chase as the Tizzard's think that he is a very good horse - it looks like a tricky race to be putting your head on the chopping block!
Could there have been a topical winner on Donald Trumps Inauguration Day yesterday? I see The World's End won at Chepstow - let's hope it was just a coincidence!

If Tottenham Hotspur are going to win the Premier League today is a going to be a real acid test for them as they travel to Manchester City. They have looked good thus far and I will be having a bit of the 27/10 in a multiple with Bournemouth at 17/20 and West Brom at 7/10.
It seems that after all these years, suddenly our men's tennis players have hit form. Dan Evans won another match in the Australian Open to move into the last 16 and also a place in the top 50 world rankings. So far he has picked up £33,000 in prize money for reaching a tournament final last week and is already guaranteed at least £139,000 for his efforts this week! That sounds like a good few days' work, although when you compare it to some of the middle order divas in the Premier League, that is just an average weeks' wage!
