There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumping from Hereford and Leicester while there are all-weather flat cards from Kempton and Newcastle.  David sends one runner to Hereford today as What A Moment contests the 3m1f handicap chase at 3.30pm.  He was a good winner at Cheltenham back in November and followed that up with a solid effort at Chepstow although he was slightly disappointing at Wetherby most recently.  He is a 7/1 chance in the paper and has claims if returning to his best under stable jockey Tom Scudamore.

I see that Swindon Town chairman Lee Power backed Lingfield winner Good Man Hughie yesterday.  He was well-supported from 11/2 to 7/2 and Power said, "We might be able to buy a striker now!"

There was literally a blank day in a number of High Street bookmakers yesterday as all three British race meetings were covered by Attheraces.  Ladbrokes, Coral and Betfred have been told that they will not be able to provide a bet-to-view service on the 22 tracks covered by ATR in an ongoing dispute over the broadcast rights.  Let's hope that it gets sorted sooner rather than later.

There were some strange results in the football last night - how can Arsenal lose to Watford?  Perhaps Watford were playing for former manager Graham Taylor whose funeral takes place this afternoon?  It means that Arsenal are now 11 points behind Chelsea and their chance of winning the title seem to have gone out of the window.  It could be Wenger's last chance of winning the Premier League slipping away and the fans were not happy about, jeering the players at half-time.  He has been a great manager but his time is up - fans want to win the Premieship and he has been unable to deliver.

Meanwhile there was a great result for Big Sam Allardyce as Crystal Palace beat Bournemouth 2-0.  I reckon Allardyce could keep them up, while Hull, Sunderland and Swansea look to be in big trouble.

Can you believe that Russian bobsleigher Dmitry Trunenkov who won a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics has been banned for four years for doping?  It is not a sport that I had ever really taken that seriously and had never even considered the possibility of cheating.  The same is true of cricket - West Indian Andre Russell has been banned from the sport for a year after he missed three drugs tests in 2015.  You know my thoughts on drugs cheats...
