It's a busy old day with five meetings taking place this afternoon.  There are jumps cards from Newbury, Uttoxeter and Warwick while there are all-weather flat cards from Lingfield and Wolverhampton.  David has a couple of runners at Warwick today with Obistar and Full representing the Pond House team.  Obistar contests the 3.50pm race; a 3m2f handicap hurdle.  He reverts to hurdles today having fallen on his latest start over fences - he had some fair form last season and has stamina in abundance so he should be suited by this test.  Ex-French recruit Full makes his debut for the stable in the 2m handicap hurdle at 4.55pm and he looks to have been found a decent opportunity.  Stable jockey Tom Scudamore is aboard our pair, while he also looks to have picked up some decent outside rides at the meeting.

There is some cracking action to look forward to this afternoon and the big race of the day is the 2.55pm at Newbury.  What it is lacking in runners, it makes up for with quality with Bristol de Mai taking on Native River.  Having said that, it is a terrible turn out with just three runners (and the third picking up a handy £5,350 for a school round).  As I said yesterday, this sort of field does racing no good whatsoever.

Gevrey Chambertin ran a belter yesterday to finish second at Kempton and it was a great pity that he was just reeled in after the last.  He was only beaten 1 1/4 lengths and was trying to concede 15lbs to the winner.  This was much more like it from our talented nine year old - the trouble is that the assessor will probably stick him back up a few pounds, making life more tricky once again.

I see that Sir Anthony McCoy is going to play in a charity football match against former Cheltenham Town FC on 19th April.  If John Francome is correct, then A P is not a great footballer - I bet he tries hard though and will be running around like a lunatic!  A P is a fanatical Arsenal supporter which brings me to...Arsene Wenger has told Ian Wright that he is ready to leave Arsenal - obviously Wenger didn't want everyone to know which is why he told Wrighty!

Spurs are 5/2 to win at Liverpool, Stoke are 23/20 to win at home against Crystal Palace and West Ham are 5/4 to beat West Brom.  Crystal Palace look to be in big trouble so they need all of Big Sam Allardyce's assistance - he has never managed a team that has been relegated.
