Well, looking through the weights for this year's Grand National at Aintree, I have to agree with David that Comply Or Die looks interesting.  He won the race in 2008 from 10-9 and was runner up in 2009 with considerably more weight.  This year he is set to carry 10-8 and is guaranteed to get in the race - at likely odds of around 50/1 I could be tempted.  I know (like the rest of us) that he is not getting any younger, but he knows his way around Aintree and I wouldn't be surprised to see him run another big race.  Ante-post favourite Ballabriggs looks to have been fairly treated on 11-0 and the McCain's also know what it takes to win a Grand National.  Listen to David's reaction to weights at yesterday's launch in London...

I was watching the racing from Folkestone yesterday and I couldn't believe my eyes when young Hadden Frost rode a finish a circuit early.  He was 20 lengths clear (at what he thought was) the second last hurdle and "won" easing down...it wasn't until the remainder of the field continued on past him that he realised there was another circuit to go!  Hadden then asked his mount Romney Marsh to go out for the final circuit before eventually pulling-up - I bet he wishes he was lost on Romney Marsh...it is something that shouldn't happen and he deserves his ban.  For all that, I am pleased that he will not miss the Cheltenham Festival - it would have been a devastating blow to a young jockey if he had missed the Festival (and potentially) the mount on Sommersby in the Champion Chase.

Following his success yesterday I'm not sure that I would want to back Asturienne in a decent race.  The long odds-on favourite required all of Robert Thornton's strength to edge home - the horse jumped well enough but appeared to be none too keen.  The mare Jordan also won on the card and she looks to have big things ahead of her!

What a great result for Spurs yesterday against Milan.  Milan's Gattuso must have a death wish!  He took on Joe Jordan and head-butted the Spurs centre forward (and let's put it like this, you wouldn't want to meet Joe in a dark alley!).  Any of you older people will know what I mean - he is an old fashioned type of player who takes no prisoners - if he heads anything it stays headed, and that includes opposing centre halfs!
