Today we have four meetings, flat cards at Chester and Catterick plus jumps cards at Worcester and Carlisle. Tom Scu and David Noonan have rides at Worcester but David does not have any runners today. I see that Ryan Moore has regained his spot as the Worlds top jockey. He didn't have any winners at Chester yesterday but he had such a good Guineas weekend that he jumped above Hugh Bowman in the TRC global rankings. Ryan has three rides at Chester today and two of them are favourites, Deauville and Venice Beach. Both of these are for Aidan O'Brien and they look to have good chances.
It is snooker payer John Parrott's 53rd birthday today - that is about the number of points he gets in his breaks! We had him at Pond House not that long ago, he was very entertaining and he also plays a fair game of ping pong! Happy Birthday John!
I must say what a good job Newton Abbot did yesterday of putting up some good prize money and they put a lot of tracks to shame. They had £90,000 up for grabs and as a result attracted good field sizes and had some good races.
How clever is film director Guy Ritchie?! He put David Beckham in his new film King Arthur and he has got the film lots of publicity already because he is in it! Everyone knows footballers can act - just look at how many go down in the penalty area!
Arsenal won 2-0 away at Southampton last night and are now fifth in the league. They still have a chance of making it into the top four, maybe Arsene Wenger is not as bad as the Arsenal supporters want us to believe? I think he has done a great job at Arsenal and I said months ago that he will not be leaving. We shall see. Harry Redknapp is going to sign a one year deal at Birmingham and I think it will take him longer than that to pick up a Brummie accent!
As you know, I am a golf nut so I shall be by the TV watching the Players Championships. Sergio Garcia says he was more nervous at the kick off of the Real Madrid -- Barcelona clash than he was over his Masters winning putt!
I gave my wife plastic surgery. I cut up her credit cards! What's Irish and stays out all night? Patty O'Furniture!
