Weekend Jottings!

If you were planning on going to go to Wincanton races this Friday, here is something a little different that you might like to consider.  For £20 you can have breakfast with jockey Joe Tizzard, then take a one mile tour of the course.  If Joe is the same as most of the jockeys, breakfast will consist of a slice of dry toast and a nice refreshing glass of water!  Of course, I am only joking and Wincanton will probably lay on a proper fry-up for us salad dodgers!  You can book now by calling 01963 32344.

I see that Ayr have signed Skye Whisky to sponsor their Scottish Champion Hurdle on 16th April.  We went to the Islay for a holiday not that long ago now, and I still recall visiting a distillery.  It was a very interesting visit, although the whisky tasted very earthy - having said that, I am no conossieur, the only whisky I usually drink is at the golf course in my coffee - it helps me swing better!

What a match between Liverpool and Manchester United this afternoon.  It would really put the cat amongst the pigeons if Liverpool could manage to win it.  I wonder if Sir Alex will get involved with the referee?  It seems to me that managers never see anything if their players commit the fouls, but are eagle-eyed when it comes to their opponents misdemeanours!  Our head lad Eddie is just the same...he never saw that Rooney elbow!
