What a great week for Conor O'Farrell. On Thursday he won the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle Final on his first ever ride at the Cheltenham Festival and now he has landed the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter aboard Minella Four Star - only his second winner over fences! Our other runner, Gentle Ranger also ran creditably to finish fourth. All in all, an amazing week - I notice that both Junior and Minella Four Star were purchased reasonably from Alan King's yard - it just shows what a change of scenery can do...if you have a horse that needs freshening up, perhaps you should consider sending it to Pond House?!

It was a shame that David flew over to watch that very exciting rugby match between England and Ireland. I am not a rugby follower but by all accounts it was not very good unless you were Irish! David said that he wished he had gone to Uttoxeter instead.
Conor and David with the magnificent Midlands Grand National Trophy
I have it on good authority that Conor is redecorating his room by papering it with pictures of Buena Vista and Minella Four Star...all the pictures of the page 3 girls have been taken down!

I was watching the Chelsea football match yesterday and I was wondering what on earth Fernando Torres must be thinking? Maybe Chelsea can turn him into a midfielder or even a defender! Maybe Torres hasn't got used to the language yet - remember he has come down from Liverpool...only joking! Seriously though, I thought that Ramires goal was a bit special and made the game worth watching.
